Dear Self,

You really did well the other day, answering all of her texts with deep answers
And calming her down, leaving her with a smile
Your friends really look up to you, motivation and inspiration overflowing
But why is it when I come to you
Your knowledge always seems to be going
In one ear and out the other
You never listen to your heart or mind at the same time, you think you’ve got it all under control
The same advice you gave the world could work for you
So why do you tune me out?
Is it because you don’t trust me?
I’ve never disappointed you before
Is it because you don’t think I’ll give an unbiased opinion?
I care about your well being just like my own
Teamwork makes the dream work
Yet you toss and turn at night, not trusting the intelligence of your mind with the efforts of your hands
Inner struggle is the first step towards failure
They say always follow your first mind, it’ll never steer you wrong
But on the road of life, it seems that you have two drivers on the inside
Four hands on the steering wheel never won a race
So I suggest you get your ego in check and run this race with me rather than against me
Fighting yourself only leads to defeating yourself
A half win is a whole loss
Take your own advice, you thought of it well
