Let me just start of by saying, Chicago talent pool continued to show prosper this month. There were many good releases that stood out, plus some great news about tours and upcoming projects. But as always we choose three releases to focus on with no honorable mention. This doesn't not mean they were the best out of the month, just left the writers discretion to choose.

We've enjoyed this singer Via Rosa and beautiful voice on "Cash Rules"of last month, March, and today we get the first single of a new project. She's teamed up with 2080 producer Sani to present listeners with a single called "Outraged", to provides us with a very gentle listening session. "Sleepless In Chicago", her next project, is on the way so stay tuned.
So, we've heard Rich Jones team up with Doc Da Mindbenda, Krush Love, and Danimal Tha Choppa for projects, some just short EPs. This says alot about Rich's relationship with producers and the respect they have for his music. The latest producers to team up with Rich Jones, a combination we've heard before, is Montana Macks. This new release is the first single from their upcoming EP called "Pigeons & Waffles", and features ADaD on "Lies, Lies, Lies".
Presenting the 13th video from his "Dreem Katcher" project, International Maverick brings us the visual for "Cloud 9". Directed by Nowitzki, we can expect two more video from hims ending the series of visual from the project. Watch the video below.
TMTHY TRTL handles beat creation for this new Tree+Crack combination. These two teaming up is nothing new but it is always welcome when they continue to collab. "I Just Want My Bread B*th" is another addition to the quantity of both Chris Crack and Tree respectively have been releasing lately, and while we wait for their new project press play and enjoy.
From covering songs from artist like Adele and Dave Matthews to Nat King Cole on youtube, to working with some of Chicago best hip hop artist, Eryn Allen Kane has been on the rise for some time. The Detroit native who made her way to Chicago, shows us just how grand her voice is with this new video the single "Have Mercy", which was inspired by PIVOT Gangs Joseph Chilliams. This is the debut release from an EP to has yet to be release, getting video direction from Austin Vesely we are presented with a very simple visual that puts all the spotlight on Eryn. November of 2014 R.O.E. delivered a new project called "To Happiness", a six track EP that was very pleasing for the ears and a recommend listen. Since then he seems to be continuing hitting stages across Chicago. Today we get a recap of one of his shows with his band The Soulvillians, where he performs songs from his latest EP and earlier work "A Backpacker Named R.O.E.".

Fool's Gold Records recently premiers a new album from Nick Catchdubs, who's also co-founder of the label, called "Smoke Machine". For track number six, he gets Chicago's own ShowYouSuck to drops verses over some heavy bass production and high energy called "Drop". Get the full album here.
In a pursuit to release this project, we've heard a number of singles, seen a name change, title adjustment, but a steady release of interesting music. Towkio presents a blend of different sounds, from up tempo production to disco feels and straight rapping, bringing us something totally unlike his last project "HotChips N Chopstix" EP. BoneLand, a duo consisting of Sammy Language and Matt Bone, present their new project, "Pleasure Palace". We first heard this duo on a song that featured Dan Kanvis called "Pigeon Wing", hearing the original style that these two offer. The 'alternative hip hop' group that brings a blend of rap, electronic, and smooth vocals, soon followed up with the Supa Bwe assisted single that is one of the three track on the EP. For the project we get what is song that represent places, things, and ideas that provide the duo with pleasure saying "We put them all under one roof and called it the Pleasure Palace." Sofar Sounds, a company that puts together very intimate live shows that are essentially in secret, teamed up with Saba for a live performance. This was show number 1209, where Saba performed his song "Time Zone" with a unplugged band that included Jamila of M&O, Anthony Pavel, Jameson Brenner and CHAD. The crowd seem really in tune as Saba held their attention which you can watch for yourself below.
Rockboy K9 is no longer the name along with a new style, and new music. Keenan Davis aims to bring pass listeners and the new, some changes he felt he needed to make to create greater art. With a new outlook on creating music comes a new release called "Miss Prom Interlude", holding a more up tempo flow. We can only guess there's a project in the works for this 'interlude', so in the meantime watch the video below.

The road to the release of ILLeet and Keenan Coke's collaborative project kicks off with a single called "Ducks". "Knocking em' down like duck in a row", Keena and ILLeet are joined by Alex Dangerfield and Nick Junior for this very 'turnth up' record. Their upcoming mixtape will be hosted by Na$im Williams and will be titled "Turnth Up: The Cure", stay tuned.
16 years of age bright red hair(comparable to a Disney character of the same age), and making her way in the music world, Ravyn Lenae delivers a new single called "Blossom Dearie". Being from Chicago, its no longer a surprise at how much talent this city produces, today it time to add another name. With silky vocals Ravyn makes the flow of song seem effortless as she sings of love. Monte Booker, who has continued to grab our interest, provides the ears with serene production which makes for a great combination.

Vic Mensa and Roc Nation officially announced that the signing had happen after rumor were a buzz when his single appear on TIDAL. He describes meeting Jay Z and his Chicago roots. He also dropped a freestyle over Future's 'Commas' below.

Want to boost you brain power then how about some great instrumentals. While I'm not a doctor, what harm could creative sounds do to the brain. Keenan Coke got some things to get off his chest and drops some bars that'll keep the Hip Hop heads tuned in. He's joined by Chris Crack who brings his own flair of confidently-aggressive flow to the forefront. "Friendly Fire" is a loose track produced by Doc Da Mindbenda, where himself and Crack proclaim and aim to do it for the culture while dodging false allies. Keenan, Crack and Doc combine for a great rap record to enjoy and can be envisioned as some pretty great music to ride to. Both artist have upcoming project release, "Turnth up the Cure" from Keenan Coke and ILLeet plus "Chris Spencer" from Chris Crack and Vic Spencer.
