The Palmer Squares - Spit Take (Video)
Prod. by Tommy Bazooka
At first I though they were highly overlooked as two emcees delivering very lyrical verses. But with a fan base as loyal as theirs are and the amount of people who come out to see them at shows, I can no longer considered this the case. The duo drops off a new visual and as always they're bringing the energy to match the bars. For six minutes we get a vernacular onslaught while at the shore on "Spit Take".

Lil Herb - I'm Rollin' (Video)
A song that popped up through Rocksmith clothing brand as part of a campaign toward release a new collection. we were presented with "I'm Rollin''. A song that's instantly infectious with of course a redundante hook, that paired with Lil Herb's heavy voice is hard to not want to press play again.
today we get the visual addition to the record, that should have come a lot earlier. Herb does what many gangster rappers do, get the family/friends together and celebrate. This song should be way bigger and this video may be the extra push that's need.
Watch below.

Jay2 - PayPerView
From 'the kidd classic' to 'ain't shit', its always fun to watch artist develop their sound especially if you've been an advent listener. Jay2 has continued to release great records, as well as align himself with talented artist and producers. With a continuation of growth and work ethic in his music, a greater audience may be in his future.
Today we get a new song from Jay2 called "PayPerView" that holds production from Monte Booker. Kicking off with a smooth piano tune, the beat makes a transition into turbulent sounds and builds into a bass filled track. Jay2 matches the production with his flow switch it up throughout the song and keeping things interesting. As easy as this type of production can overwhelm a artist, he doesn't let that happen while rapping of dreams of success and life's thrills.
This isn't the first time we've heard Monte Booker and Jay2 team up on a song. Its actually becoming something to look forward to from these two. While I can come up with a list of artist Monte should work with, his frequent collaborators from collective Zero Fatigue collaborations are something to anticipate.

Pavy & Qualmes - Uber (Video)
On wild night, that in most cases are unplanned, and you're intoxicated and need a lift its best if you called a Uber. Better yet called that Uber before night kicks off, just leave the car at home. Pavy and Qualmes opt for the car service, in this educational "Don't drink and drive" yet entertaining video, for a wild night with the potential of being arrested. Fresh from their collaborative effort "DUI: The Album" we get a lot more insight as to what these might of went through during the project's creation. What the video below.

How Far They've Come: Vic Mensa & Chance the Rapper
Words by Michael Fish
2013 was a big year for these Chicago gentlemen. Both of their mixtapes released within months of each other and were successful in their own ways. Chance The Rapper"s album was reviewed well and given the cherry on top appeal. Vic Mensa's received high acclaim, but unfortunately did not attract the mainstream or have the extra spark. Chance had the opportunity and took it to tour extensively and promote himself. He is and was one of the few artists to become very successful releasing an independent album in today’s problematic music industry.Fast forward to two years later, Chance has become a dominant figure in the Chicago scene; educating the youth and receiving recognition from Mayor Rahm Emanuel for his “Youth of the Year” award. Vic has released new collaborations from great artists like Kaytranada and Kanye West. Both artists have taken the opportunity to play major Chicago festivals like Lollapalooza in 2014 and Pitchfork Music Festival this past weekend. Watching each of their performances at Pitchfork showed the greatest contrasts between the two best friends.
This past weekend at Pitchfork Music Festival, Vic performed on Saturday closing out the small stage while Chance closed out the entire festival on Sunday. Vic’s set included singles he has released over the past year but only performed two songs from "Innanetape" (Holy Holy, Orange Soda). Vic was spotty between words of more well known songs to conserve energy throughout the performance to make for greater delivery of songs he has released recently and not at all. Vic sang a cover of Future’s hit “Codeine Crazy” to slow down the show and it was incredible. He put on a good performance of unreleased tracks which showed great potential for the upcoming album “Traffic” that is nearly complete, according to his banter in between songs. At the end of the show, he brought out the entire Savemoney crew to go crazy with the song “U Mad.” To everyone in the crowd’s surprise, he did not bring out West for his verse. Overall, Vic had an excellent performance that gave hope for a bright future of his solo career.

Some time has past since that tee dropped, but repping the win isn't over. DBM is dropping a new piece this weekend, for a limited edition, "GloHawk" Blackhawk jersey.

Pavy & Qualmes - D.U.I.: The Album
Two of S.U.H. Ent's finest team for a new project that presents itself like a wild night out. This new release titled "DUI: The Album" is the combination of Pavy and Qualmes coming up great song concepts and it makes for a great match up. With commentary at the end of a few songs and skits that adds to the craziness, I'll equate this to a spin off of the 'Hangover' movie series. It'll be a shame if there's no footage of SUH out and about, I'm sure we would see some wild interaction.
So if you plan on putting liquor in you system this may/or may not, depending on your craziness, be the album to bump. Listen and download below.
Kweku Collins - Say It Here, While It's Safe (EP)
A new comer and Closed Session signee, Kweku Collins popped up on our radar with news of joining DJ RTC's label and a couple singles one which were "Kings". We also heard him on fellow CS member song "Me Time" from Odd Couple. While this is not the first project Kweku has release, the previous being "All That's Gold", this will be our debut of a Kweku project.
Today he delivers "Say It Here, While It's Safe", a seven track EP. With additional production from Boathouse, Kweku handles all the production for this project with a feature from Webster X. We get poetic delivery that's a breath of fresh air and production with calm tempo and smooth transitions, show casing twice the talents. Listen below.
IKON ft. PIVOT Gang - High Noon
Three months into the year IKON dropped his project "Private Stock" out of his studio of he same name. Today he returns with artist featured on the project, PIVOT Gang, to put some some new tunes your ears. John Walt, MFn Melo, and Saba deliver verse over IKON production for a song called "High Noon".
Omen - Elephant Eyes (Album)
It been a long time coming since the first announcement that he would be dropping a new album. After a few years and set backs, Omen was ready to drop his album "Elephant Eyes" and present to the world. Leading up to the project we got to see him tell his story through parody with a short skit/doc that gave us a comical look at what it took to get this album out. Today he we the get the full project ready for the masses.
We know how listeners bias can over shadow the music, seeing as he's signed with J. Cole's Dreamville. And while you can make correlation between the two[Omen & J. Cole] its best you open your ears. This album doesn't aim to for what's popular in rap at the moment as far as the 'turn up' goes. Instead we get very personal songs like "Father Figure" or analysis of the current social fight to get fame instead of actual success on "LoveDrug".
This project did take awhile to come to fruition and I do see a up hill battle with regaining the attention of listeners in a time when we're consider to have ADD toward music. But if you're aiming for a deeper story to the music and getting to know the artist through their artistry press play and enjoy.
Holing 11 tracks, Omen handles much of the production himself. Joining him are fellow Dreamville artiest Cozz and Bass, CJ Hamilton and J. Cole. Get on iTunes and stream below.
