The Lost Childhoods: Hip-Hop Vs Violence


The Lost Childhoods organization has be making their rounds recruiting different artist in an effort to address the issues of violence in Chicago. With a few releases they caught the attention of the Chicago Reader. If you are an artist check out how to be feature on there project find out below.


With recent murders like rapper "Lil Jojo", violence and homicide in Chicago are continuing to spiral out of control. The Lost Childhoods seeks to address this issue with it's up and coming offering.  
In a Chicago Reader article released Tuesday, Maxwell 'Emcays' states "how powerful Chicago music is" and his plan for using it to add some remedy to the current situation.
The music project is dedicated to the memory of Derrion Albert who was beaten to death by wooden planks in a mob fight recorded on video in 2009.  
The free project is slated to be released on Derrion's death day (09.24). leaks have been heard for a while from artists such as The Boys Illinois, Dave Coresh, Prince Jericho and G.o.D Jewels. 
The Lost Childhoods has reserved a few slots for other artist to submit tracks.

The music must be catered specific to this project.
