Pick Three - January

written by Curtis
You know what time it is. The end of the month where we pinpoint three dope records that were post on Chicityhiphop.net this month. This also marks the first one of 2015. This is basically a list in short form, by a writer selected, choosing only three releases with no Honorable mentions. Checkout today's picks and comment to let us know yours.

Thomas Mac - Getaway (Video)
A completely smooth record that can touch the soul, Thomas Mac definitely showed his ability to sing on "Getaway". He sings of getting away to find ones self but recognises that getting away may not solve the problem. One thing to note is how his singing seems so natural, he doesn't seem to force his vocals. This bearded gut is definitely on the radar for future releases.

Ronnie Fidel - Money First
Came across this artist when he release a song called "Intense" and patiently waited to hear more. He dropped this new record off just yesterday and its been on replay. "Money First " is a record that should only be play with good quality speakers a high volume, anything will not this song justice. Ronnie sings of aiming for financial success before anything else saying, "Diamonds and fancy thing, what's make it official" speaks volumes to the concept of this song and is a great way to end it off. Not only does he sing but he also handles the production for this song, because who better to do than the singer who's going to sing on it.

Kaytranada ft. Vic Mensa - Drive Me Crazy
Montreal producer provides a beat that from start to finish get the head nodding. Teaming  up with Vic Mensa for this new single, we get a great combination of rapper and beatsmith. "Drive Me Crazy" is a up beat sound where Vic consistently flows, lyrically, the waves of this track. With Mick Jenkins "Rain", and Vic Mensa's "Wimmeh Nah" already under his belt I have become increasingly interest to hear more this producer.
