Chi-City Hip Hop News Brief [3/15-3/20]

Today we, on a Friday, we kick off a new weekly news brief about what's the latest going on with artist from the scene of Chicago. We'll be bringing readers new update about many topics and the artist involved, new which will also be available on our Youtube channel. Hit the jump and checkout a couple things that came across the desk.


  • ShowYouSuck is set to headline a upcoming showcase by Riot Fest. Riot Fest recently deliver the new and has teamed up with Double Door and Chicagoist where the showcase will focus on local talent. The first show will be on April 11th at Double Door located 1551 N Damen for all ages. get tickets here
  • theWHOevers have been busy preparing a new project, trying something a little different from anything they've done before. The duo recently released a playlist of music called "The Pilot", full of some of their best record so far. Come March 25 we get to see the Season premier of the project "Marathon".
  • Lil Durk to twitter to announce that his debut album 'Remember My Name" is set for a May 12th, with the first single featuring Chris Brown and French Montana, called "Get That Money".
  • Spenzo, Lil' Herb, Alex Wiley, Tink, Dreezy, Johnny May Cash, and Mick Jenkins are up for the 10th spot on the XXL 2015 Freshmen cover. Vote for your favorite here.
