This Week In Chi-City Hip Hop News [3/22 - 3/27]


Our weekly new segment continues, with more always happening Chicago. Hit the jump and checkout this weeks' latest.

---A big congrats to Mick Jenkins, as he's set to hit the stage at Lollapalooza this year. In a recent interview with Complex he gave us a name to his upcoming project, set to be titled "The Healing Component". But before that he also tweeted about a EP titled "Waves" and teaming with Hayveyah McGowan for paintings to each song.

---With "Tetsuo & Youth" still fresh in the ears, Lupe recently hinted at a possible "The Cool 2". There was also mention of album titled "Skulls". But while he's still in the studio working we will have to wait and see what happens.

---Both FOC members are working on new separate projects. Giftz looks to drop off his ESGN debut, calling it "Mirrors". ACE B8gie looks to follow-up from "The B8gie Foo' Blues" with a project called "Hot Boy B8gie". Both of these artist have great mixtapes under their belts already so it will be interesting to see what they come up with in 2015.

---Shawnna hinted at a possible collaborative project with Twista. She recently announced the name of her new mixtape "La Miconia", dropping the first single called "Water Whip".

---Even though Bo Deal dropped his final mixtape "Out Wit A Bang" last month he plans to release a joint project with Sly Polaroid.

 ---On May 18th, SeVen1 will be dropping his new album "Atonement II", set to hold 16 new tracks with 6 songs already released.

---Kanye West and Damon Dash have reconnect and are doing being business together. The two have their eyes on buying Karmaloop. Reportedly Karmaloop has be having money troubles and are supposedly bankrupt.

---Leaders1354 brings in this Spring season with three new hats. Head over to their online store to get yours.

---Lil' Durk's manager OTF Chino was shot and killed March 27th. According to reports, he “was sitting in a car in the 8400 block of South Stony Island Avenue when a gunman approached on foot and fired shots.
